The danger is greater during and after hospitalization. You are at higher risk if you have had a blood clot in the past
Anticoagulant
In some situations, your doctor may prescribe medication to thin your blood (anticoagulant). This medication prevents the formation of a blood clot and can eliminate ones that already exist.
This medication may be in injectable form that you will have to inject into your flesh, under your skin.
