Information about other types of resources

Intermediate resources

An intermediate resource (RI) is operated by a self-employed individual or by a corporation or company that has made a specific agreement with the CISSS des Laurentides. Its mandate is to participate in beneficiaries’ maintenance in or integration into the community by providing them a home adapted to their needs, and by providing them with support services or the assistance required by their situation.

TYPES OF ACCOMMODATION RESOURCES FOR SENIORS

  • Long-term care facilities (CHSLDs)

Long-term care facilities are public accommodations provided to people whose situation has been assessed by the CLSC and for whom all the measures used or available can no longer guarantee their wellbeing or safety at home.

The Mécanisme d’accès à l’hébergement (MAH) procedure of the homecare support services for seniors to gain access to accommodations ensures accessibility and management of all requests and placement in public accommodations in the Laurentians.

The MAH tries to ensure that the person is housed in the right place, at the right time and with the right resources.
